Priscilla Nzamalu, from Kibwezi region has a background in Biological Siences with a Bsc in Botany and Zoology, she also has a Masters in Training in Rural Extension and Transformation/Teaching and a Post graduate diploma in Food and Nutrition Security, Certificate in The Right to Food and Nutrition Security, Project Management, Conflict transformation, Anamed (Natural Medicines) besides other courses. Priscilla took her PDC with John Sheffy in May 2012 and our Training of Trainers Programme and Consultancy Design in 2014 and 2015 with Warren Brush and has since assisted on consultancies and trainings with PRI.
She chose to take the PDC, to dive deeper into learning the importance of sustainability and different natural systems, the soil, plants and animals and how to enhance ecosystems. She has a special interest in health and nutrition.
With support from the Slow Food movement, she has been involved in installing thirteen water tanks in seven community groups, three families, and six schools. Sixteen Kitchen gardens have been established and more health vegetable for the kitchens have been produced and used. This is contributing to improved health of those implementing the knowledge and skills learnt. Priscilla aims to enhance her skills through more training and being a mentor in her community.
