Stephen has a B.Sc in Agriculture from the Egerton University, Kenya and a Masters in Rural Development and Food Security from the Wageningen University in the Netherlands. Stephen was part of the Kenya Institute of Organic Farming in 2008 where he was trained on appropriate field technologies. Stephen then completed his PDC in March, 2012 with Warren Brush and since developed a keen interest in Permaculture and Agorecology as an approach toward a whole systems approach and a tool to spearhead sustainability.
Stephen proceeded to work with farmers across the region for the past five years and has experience in both animal and crop production practices under organic production. He has also served Equity Bank previously on their micro-enterprise loan programme, to assist smallholder farmers and CBO’s in developing and expanding their business. Stephen also previously worked at Ololo Lodge in Nairobi, where he assisted the management in designing a permaculture plan for their property which came through PRI Kenya. Ololo Lodge commended Stephen for this work and expertise. Stephen is dedicated to the SDG’s and brings a valuable skill in project management and fundraising skills.
