Born and raised on a farm in Sweden, nature, animals and agriculture has always been a part of her and throughout her university years, international agricultural development has been one of her main interests. In 2016/2017 she got accepted for an internship at the UN Environment headquarters in Nairobi which deepened her knowledge and experience in environmental policy work and international sustainable development. During her time in Sweden, Jessica has worked for her university SLU as a research assistant and at the County Administrative Board in Stockholm, Sweden, as a policy officer on animal welfare.
Jessica got in contact with permaculture in 2013 while taking a course in Project Management & Communication, were she interviewed several permaculture organisations on this topic. The curiosity and interest of permaculture grew and when Jessica heard of PRI Kenya, she didn’t hesitate to contact us to be a part of the team. Jessica’s aim is to extend and take the Education Programme to the next level and reach greater heights! Jessica thrives in culturally diverse, collaborative, and innovative teams and her vision is to engage various stakeholders to transform the agricultural sector and increase capacity building where environmental sustainability is central to the mission.
